Raise Your Paddle to Protect Beautiful Lower Hadlock Pond

For nearly 100 years, visitors to Lower Hadlock Pond have walked the secluded shoreline trails perhaps thinking they were within Acadia National Park. In fact, the western side of the pond is privately owned and its future unsecured. Now, thanks to a purchase option from the Mount Desert Water District, we have an opportunity to conserve 39 acres of shorefront on Lower Hadlock Pond. Together, Friends of Acadia and Maine Coast Heritage Trust are working to secure funding to assure this key parcel's permanent protection, to ensure continued public access to the pond and surrounding trails, and to protect the water supply for the community of Northeast Harbor. This project is part of the Acadia Land Legacy partnership between Friends of Acadia and Maine Coast Heritage Trust to help protect key parcels throughout MDI for eventual transfer to Acadia National Park.

Raise your paddle to protect beautiful Lower Hadlock Pond!

For nearly 100 years, visitors to Lower Hadlock Pond have walked the secluded, shoreline trails perhaps thinking they were within Acadia National Park. In fact, the western side of the pond is privately owned and its future unsecured.

Now, thanks to a purchase option from the Mount Desert Water District, we have an opportunity to conserve 39 acres of shorefront on Lower Hadlock Pond. Together, Friends of Acadia and Maine Coast Heritage Trust are working to secure funding to assure this key parcel's permanent protection, to ensure continued public access to the pond and surrounding trails, and to protect the water supply for the community of Northeast Harbor .

This project is part of the Acadia Land Legacy partnership between Friends of Acadia and Maine Coast Heritage Trust to help protect key parcels throughout MDI for eventual transfer to Acadia National Park .
Proudly raise your paddles high to be a part of the protection of Lower Hadlock Pond!
Value: $1,000 per paddle
Donor: You!
