Wind Turbines Proposed Offshore of Isle au Haut
The State of Maine is proposing several test locations for offshore, deepwater, wind
energy technologies. One of these areas is off of the southern tip of Isle au Haut, near
Acadia National Park. Please attend one of the state’s public meetings regarding their

Concert with Paul Sullivan to Benefit Friends of Acadia
Please join us for an afternoon piano concert with Paul Sullivan to benefit Friends of Acadia.
Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at the Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor. Paul will play
selections from his CD Nights in the Gardens of Maine. Tickets are $10.00. Advance reservations recommended.

Van Tours of Schoodic Offered
Friends of Acadia is offering van tours of the Schoodic District of Acadia National Park on Sunday September 13, 2009. Come hear more about the resort development proposed for the 3,200 acres adjacent to the park, the natural resources of the region, and efforts to preserve an ecological corridor between Acadia National Park and the state’s Donnell Pond Public Reserve to the north.
